He was born and raised in Traverse City, MI. As a child, Dr. Schell remembers being fascinated with the health field, which eventually led him to pursue a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. During this time his fascination and passion for serving others only intensified. Dr. Schell continued his education in dentistry by attending the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2014. He found that dentistry has a perfect balance between serving others and guiding patients to not only stable oral health, but also systemic health.
During dental school, Dr. Schell and a handful of students, organized, led, and worked clinics that serve veterans who do not have access to dental care. The program is called Victors for Veterans and is now becoming incorporated into the U of M Outreach Program. The work Dr. Schell and his colleagues did was completely free. He had the pleasure of serving in around 16 clinics during his time at U of M.
Dr. Schell & his wife Megan got married in June of 2018 and have a dog named Charlie. Along with spending time with family, Dr. Schell and his wife Megan enjoy traveling the world and find joy in immersing themselves in different cultures/perspectives.
